HISTORY OF BENITO BEDROCK EDUCATION CENTRE (B.B.E.C)

Benito Bedrock Education Centre, as the name sounds, today is a product of the ideology that reflects Nigeria Educational policy. As Educators, we had a vision, mission and passion to contribute our quota to the educational needs of Nigerian citizens, which is in absolute correlation with global standards.

We are strongly aware that the wealth of a nation is not only in her mineral resources alone but also in her human capital development through quality Education to guarantee sustainable future for the country.

When we came to Aduwawa Community in 2001, we saw the need to provide quality education to all members of the community who resides in Aduwawa, its neighboring communities and the state in general.

Earlier in 1999/2001 we started by organising remedial classes for the slow learning student in JSS I – III and WAEC preparatory lectures for students in SS I – III as well as SSCE drop outs who were preparing for
G.C. E, and other external examinations. The results from these efforts were very satisfactory.

There was a high record of improvement in the performances of students in the JSS in their various schools and also the SSCE students both in their classes and external examinations.

In the light of the aforementioned performances of the students, the remedial classes and the SSCE / WAEC preparatory lecture witnessed a bumper and unprecedented number of students that we could no longer accommodate them in the extra lectures alone and hence the lectures now metamorphosed into a school where they could have regular lectures and coaching on daily basis.

In September 2001 we started with just 7 pupils in KG I-II and about 8 children in Pry I - III. Before the end of that academic school year, children population grew to 30.

Primaries I-V came on board in 2004 and that made the students population to rise to 70 at the end of that academic session.

In 2005 the school recorded about 5 students in JSS 1 but before the end of that school year the population grew to 12

Thus, that has been the steady growth of the school and as at 2010, we are happy to place on record that the student’s population, witnessed an unprecedented growth spanning from KG I - III, Primary I – V and SS I - III.

Structurally speaking, the school started with a 3 Bedroom flat in 2001, grew to 6 Bedroom flat in 2003.
Today, we have really improved in the area of facilities. We have two storey building of thirteen (13) classrooms, a staff-room, a school hall and additional block of five (5) classrooms. The compound is fenced and all the classes are well ventilated with durable ceiling fans. Adequate learning facilities are provided and while the existing science and computer laboratories are been improved on regular basis to meet up with the improving learning demands of the students.

The academic performances of the students in both internal and external exams such as WAEC and UTME (JAMB) as well as Post UTME Examinations are quite outstanding. Our students have been doing very well in all these examinations and we are proud to say today that a good number of our students have been admitted to study various courses of their choices in the tertiary institutions such as Colleges of Education, Polytechnics and the Universities within and outside the country.

BBEC in fact has continually maintained academic excellence and high moral standards. This is in no doubt made possible because Bedrock Education Centre is privileged to have a crop of qualified and dedicated male and female teachers since her inception.

The non-academic staffs also constitute a strong supportive arm in the running of the school.
It suit well to state that, ‘The quality Education that could be gotten in Bedrock Education Centre is the best legacy you need for your child/Ward".
